Basket Full of Easter Eggs with a Bow

A woven basket with a big twisted-rope handle and a bow on top holds four decorated eggs. One has horizontal stripes, another has rows of circles, a third is covered in little hearts, and the fourth has more circle patterns. A second striped egg sits at the front. Look closer and you'll see the braided rim and chunky woven bands down the sides, plus small grass tufts in the bottom corners. Wide stripes, dots and hearts are easy for little hands, while the basket weave gives older kids something more detailed. Soft pink, lavender and mint would suit the eggs, with warm browns for the basket and bright yellow or red on the bow. This free printable PDF makes an easy afternoon activity. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the basket body and its woven rows with light tan, then fill the thin gaps between the weaving with dark brown.
- 2Color the twisted handle and the thick rim of the basket with warm brown, following the rope lines.
- 3Fill the bow loops, tails and center knot with bright red, leaving the small highlight areas white.
- 4Color the blue egg with sky blue, the pink heart egg with soft pink, and the purple egg with lavender purple, keeping the white polka dots and leaving the hearts bright red.
- 5Color the striped eggs: the top egg with stripes of pale blue, grass green, golden yellow and a lavender purple top, and the front egg with orange and golden yellow stripes.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading along one side of each egg and the basket to make the colors pop.
