Here's a woven Easter basket resting in a few tufts of grass, holding five decorated eggs with a big ribbon bow on its twisted handle. Every egg gets its own look. One has zigzag stripes, one has a band of small dots plus a wavy line, one has curved horizontal stripes, the big front egg has ring-shaped polka dots, and another zigzag egg sits on the right. The basket has a braided rim and brick-style weaving along the sides, which means lots of small spaces for careful coloring. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the basket body bricks chocolate brown, leaving the thin strips between them for the next color.
- 2Color the rim and the handle with wheat tan, and keep the open space inside the handle white.
- 3Color the bow loops, tails and center knot bubblegum pink.
- 4Fill the front polka dot egg with lavender and leave its white dots blank, then color the left egg with sky blue and light blue stripes.
- 5Color the top left egg with violet purple zigzags, orange bands and a touch of red at the bottom, then fill the top right egg with grass green stripes and the lower right egg with lemon yellow and rose pink zigzags.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading along the basket weave and the edges of the eggs for depth.
