This printable shows a happy boy with short tousled hair, grinning as he hugs an oversized egg to his tummy. He's dressed in a short-sleeved T-shirt, cuffed shorts, and sneakers with ankle socks. The egg is divided into bands. Wavy zigzags run across the top, five little circles sit through the middle, and more wavy stripes finish off the bottom, so small hands get lots of sections to fill. Grass tufts sit on both sides of his feet, and one flower with a round center and rounded petals grows on the right. Bold lines and fairly large shapes make it a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Bright pink and yellow circles with soft purple and blue stripes will turn the egg into a pastel spring treat. It's a nice pick for a holiday table or a classroom Easter activity. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the face, ears, hands, arms and legs with light peach, leaving the eye whites, teeth and sock and shoe soles white.
- 2Color the hair with chestnut brown, then the shorts with tan.
- 3Color the shirt sleeves with sky blue, and the big egg's top and bottom with golden yellow.
- 4Fill the egg's stripes: grass green for the upper band, emerald green for the dotted band, bubblegum pink for the wavy band, and light blue for the stripe near the bottom.
- 5Add golden yellow dots on the green dotted band and coral pink inside the open smile.
- 6Finish the flower with golden yellow in the center, grass green leaves, and white petals, then add bright red toes on both shoes. Optional: add a little shading under the hair and along the egg edges.
