Eight Pointed Star Mandala With Circle Rings

A large four-pointed star sits in the middle of this mandala, with long, narrow tips reaching up, down, left and right. Four shorter, curved points angle out diagonally behind it. Behind the star are three round bands that circle the design, and a ring of twelve small circles sits in the outer band, one near the tip of each point and others in between. Each long star tip also holds a circle. In the center, a smaller star is packed with tiny circles, arcs and dots around two overlapping squares with a square in the middle. Try coloring the big star in one bold color and giving the small circles a repeating pattern of three colors. It also works well for talking about symmetry, since you can fold it in your mind and see the same shapes on every side.
