Off on a woodland adventure, a smiling little turtle strides along in a safari-style hat with a small backpack on and a magnifying glass held up in one hand. Two happy butterflies flutter nearby, one at the top right and one at the upper left. Large leafy ferns, tufts of grass, a few stones and two spotted mushrooms in the bottom corners surround the turtle. In the background there's a big tree with a scalloped canopy, plus soft bushes and a rock on the right. A neat grid pattern covers the shell and the arms and legs have little spots, so you get both large and small areas to color. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the turtle's head, arms, hand, and legs with light green, leaving the eye whites and eye shine white.
- 2Color the shell plates golden yellow and the backpack sky blue, with its straps and buckle in navy blue.
- 3Color the safari hat crown and brim light tan, with the darker band around it in khaki brown.
- 4Color the tree trunk brown, the leaves and tree branches forest green, and the ferns and grass lime green or forest green.
- 5Color the mushrooms cherry red with white spots, the stems cream white, and the butterflies orange, sky blue, and sunny yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the shell edges and under the arm with chocolate brown to make the turtle pop.
