Fairy and Unicorn in the Mushroom Forest
Coloring guide
A smiling unicorn with a flowing wavy mane and long tail walks through a woodland clearing, a little fairy sitting on its back. Both wear flower crowns, and the fairy has big wings, a leafy petal skirt and tiny shoes. Another fairy flies overhead with a wand, smiling down at the pair. All around are giant spotted mushrooms, blooming daisies and bluebells, tall trees, a small waterfall, a winding stream and glowing fireflies drifting through the air. There's lots to keep kids busy, from big shapes for beginners to tiny petals for steadier hands. Soft lavender and pink work on the unicorn's mane, and a rainbow of colors on the mushroom caps would be fun. Pick up the free printable PDF for a screen-free afternoon. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big leafy areas: color the tree leaves and bushes in forest green and grass green, and the lower grass in grass green.
- 2Fill the mushroom caps with red and leave the white spots untouched; color the mushroom stems in cream.
- 3Color the fairy's skin and face in peach, her hair in tan, and her dress in light pink, then add lilac purple to her wings and sky blue for the wing edges.
- 4Give the unicorn's mane and tail soft streaks of lavender, pink, sky blue and lilac purple, and color its hooves in lavender.
- 5Add sky blue to the stream and waterfall, gray to the rocks, and brown to the tree trunks, leaving the sky and the unicorn's body white.
- 6Optional: Add a little golden yellow to the small yellow mushroom and periwinkle blue to a few bluebells for extra sparkle.
