Family Campfire Night Beneath the Stars
Coloring guide
In front of a dome tent, a family of four and their fluffy dog gather around a crackling campfire in this cozy night scene. A man with a lantern at his side sits next to a boy in a zip-up jacket, while two girls, one in a pom-pom beanie and one in a knit hat, smile beside the dog. Stones and logs ring the fire. Behind them are a calm lake, rolling mountains and a tall pine tree with cones. Above, a big cratered moon, a shooting star, constellations and lots of twinkling stars fill the sky, and wildflowers and leafy plants frame the corners. Deep indigo and purple for the sky, warm yellow on the moon and stars, and orange and red flames will make the fire glow. Free to download and print for kids and coloring fans of any age. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky and mountains: color the distant mountains and the lake in cornflower blue and sky blue, and leave the stars and the moon's craters white.
- 2Fill the big orange tent with tangerine orange, and use pumpkin orange for its darker side panels.
- 3Color the pine trees and the grassy ground in forest green and leaf green, adding grass green for the lowest patches of grass.
- 4Paint the family's clothes: royal blue for the dad's and boy's jackets, violet for the woman's sweater, and rose pink for the girl's jacket and the woman's hat.
- 5Add the golden yellow dog, tan pants, and peach skin tones, keeping the eye whites bright white.
- 6Finish with the campfire in sunny yellow, the rocks in medium gray and beige, and the constellations in navy blue. Optional: add a little extra shading on the tent and dog to make them pop.
