A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sidewalk and grass areas: color the sidewalk in light gray and the grass on both sides in lime green and soft green, leaving the tree leaves and background white.
- 2Color the dog in golden orange, including its ears, tail and cheek, then add the leash in tan.
- 3Fill the family's clothes: the dad's shirt in royal blue, his pants in tan, the mom's top in rose pink, her jeans in denim blue, and the boy's shirt in cherry red.
- 4Color the skin areas (faces, necks, arms and hands) in peach skin, and the hair in chestnut brown or dark brown.
- 5Add the house in butter yellow with a tomato orange roof, sky blue windows and a light brown door, plus the mom's caramel bag and the boy's royal blue shorts.
- 6Finish with details: the dog's tongue in rose pink, the tag in bright yellow, and leave the eye whites, the boy's socks and the boy's shoe soles white. Optional: add a little darker shading under the characters to make them pop.
