Fear and Disgust With a Treasure Map, Inside Out
Coloring guide
Two Inside Out characters, Fear and Disgust, lean over a big table to look at an unrolled map. Fear is tall and thin, with a bow tie and a zigzag-patterned vest, and he looks worried as he points one finger at a dotted trail. Next to him, Disgust sits with her chin on her hand, one eyebrow raised and a bored, unimpressed look. She wears a sleeveless flowered dress and a scarf at her neck. The map shows mountains, little trees, a winding river, a pond, and a star where the dotted path ends. Curved windows and a round-edged shelf are behind them. Purple for Fear, grass green for Disgust's dress, and blue for the river would work well. This free printable PDF has plenty of room for a few extra copies. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background: color the window glass and arches in light blue, and fill the table and shelves with caramel brown.
- 2Color the faces, arms and hands in light peach, and use salmon peach for the eyebrow area on the left character.
- 3Fill the map with pale green, then add sage green mountains, forest green trees and a lime green island. Color the lake and river sky blue and the star bright red.
- 4Dress the characters: pale yellow for the sleeve and shirt, chocolate brown and leaf green for the zigzag patterns, auburn brown for the hair, and mustard yellow for the scarf and flowers.
- 5Add the final details in cherry red for the bowtie, orange for the swirl and flower accents, and golden yellow for the shelf beads. Leave the eye whites, teeth and corner background white.
- 6Optional: add a little shading with a darker shade of each color on the shadowed sides of the hair and shirts to make the drawing pop.
