Feather With Detailed Patterned Barbs, Zentangle Style

Feather With Detailed Patterned Barbs, Zentangle Style coloring page

Coloring guide

A single large feather slants across the page, with a segmented central shaft running from the dark tip at the top down to a few loose wispy strands at the bottom. Each section of the feather is filled with its own pattern. You can find wavy parallel lines, zigzag bands, small circles and dots, tight spirals, a checkered mesh, and bold black-and-white stripes that look a bit like zebra markings. Thin curling tendrils with little bead-like dots reach out from the edges. Try coloring each patterned section in a different shade, or pick one color family for the left side and a second for the right so the shaft stands out in the middle. Fine-tip markers or colored pencils work well for the narrow spaces. This printable page is a nice quiet activity for older kids and teens who enjoy slow, detailed work.
