Five smiling nesting dolls line up side by side, getting smaller from the big one on the left to the tiny one on the right. All of them have rosy round cheeks, big sparkly eyes and a patterned headscarf tied in a bow at the chin. The biggest doll has polka dots on her scarf and a large daisy-style flower on her apron. Hearts run along the second doll's scarf, and she has a tulip on her front. The three smallest each show a little blossom with leaves. Scalloped trim runs along the bottoms, with a single ground line underneath. Since the shapes are big and simple, preschoolers and early elementary kids can handle it easily. You could give every scarf its own bright shade, like red, teal and yellow, to make a rainbow row. It's a free printable for a screen-free activity at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the five doll faces and the small hands-free areas of skin with light peach, and leave the eye whites and the white dots on the scarves untouched.
- 2Fill the big bodies and aprons of the dolls with golden yellow, and color the lower edges of the largest doll and the fifth doll in orange.
- 3Color the headscarves and bows: cherry red on the largest doll, sky blue on the second doll, and forest green on the third doll.
- 4Add the flowers and tulip: cherry red petals on the largest doll's flower and the second doll's tulip, leaving the third doll's flower petals white, then add grass green and forest green leaves and stems.
- 5Color the hair chocolate brown on the first three dolls, plum purple on the fourth doll's scarf, and the cheeks soft pink.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker shade along the bottom edges of each doll to make them look rounder.
