Five Point Star With Faceted Center Lines

Coloring guide
A large five-pointed star sits in the middle of the page, drawn with a double outline. A thin border runs around the outside, and a second smaller star sits just inside it, leaving a narrow band between the two. Inside the inner star, straight lines run from the center out to each of the five tips and to each of the five inner corners. That splits the star into ten slim triangular sections, so it looks like a folded or faceted paper star. The shapes are big and the lines are clean, which makes it easy for younger kids to color. Try shading each section on one side of every point in a darker color and the other side in a lighter one, so the star seems to catch light. The narrow outer band could be gold or silver. It also works well for talking about symmetry and counting points.
