Flamingo Drinking From Shallow Water With Folded Wings

Flamingo Drinking From Shallow Water With Folded Wings coloring page

Coloring guide

A single flamingo stands on two long thin legs in shallow water, its neck curved into an S shape so the head and bent beak point down toward the surface. The wings are folded against the body and drawn as layered, pointed feathers that sweep back into a tapered tail. Rippling rings circle the feet, and wavy lines show the water's edge. Behind the bird, a low grassy bank has short spiky grass strokes on it, and a few tall reeds rise from the water on the right. The shapes are big and open, which makes this a good fit for crayons or markers. Try coloring each layer of feathers in a slightly different shade of pink, then talk about why flamingos bend their necks down to feed. Once the page is printed, kids can leave the water pale blue or add a reflection under the legs.
