Pond Flamingo Dipping Its Beak Near Lily Pads

Coloring guide
On two thin, knobby-kneed legs, a long-necked flamingo stands in shallow water and bends into a deep curve until the tip of its beak touches the surface. Small ripples circle the beak and legs, and a few droplets splash up near its face. It has a round, friendly eye and a wing of layered feathers drawn in big, clear shapes that small hands can handle. Three flat lily pads float nearby: one in the lower left, a large one in the lower right and another at the right edge. The page has no other background, so it stays open and uncluttered. Soft pink and coral work for the feathers, a darker shade for the beak tip and fresh green for the lily pads. Preschoolers and early elementary kids can both enjoy this free printable. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the flamingo's body and neck in light pink, leaving the eye white untouched.
- 2Color the long legs and the knee joints in peach orange.
- 3Fill the beak with charcoal gray, then add a few hot pink strokes on the tips of the wing feathers.
- 4Paint all the lily pads in leaf green, keeping the background between the legs white.
- 5Add sky blue water splashes around the base of the legs and under the lily pads.
- 6Optional: add a little extra shading on the flamingo's neck and wings with a slightly darker pink for depth.
