A tall flamingo in a wide-brimmed straw hat, with a little flower on the band, tips a watering can over the blooms in this garden scene. Drops fall from the spout onto two big sunflowers with dotted centers, and a cluster of tulips grows nearby. Behind the bird stands a wooden picket fence with rounded bushes peeking over the top and small grass tufts on the ground. There's a daisy-style flower on the side of the watering can, a nice small detail for little hands. The shapes are clear and the lines fairly bold, so kids who like a mix of big and small areas will enjoy it. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the flamingo's body, neck, and wings with flamingo pink, leaving the small flowers on the hat white.
- 2Color the long legs and webbed feet coral orange, then fill the top of the beak with soft peach.
- 3Color the straw hat brim and crown straw gold, add the turquoise hat band, and keep the white flower on the band.
- 4Paint the watering can and its spout sky blue, then add a few tan water drops falling from the spout.
- 5Fill the sunflower petals with bright yellow, the leaves and tulip stems with grass green, and the grass with lime green. Color the tulips tomato red.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the flamingo's wings and the bottom of the legs for depth.
