Flamingo Wading by a Lily Pad With Ripple Rings

Flamingo Wading by a Lily Pad With Ripple Rings coloring page

Coloring guide

A tall flamingo stands in shallow water with its long neck curved down and its bent beak pointing toward the surface. Its two thin legs end in small ripple rings, and a few wavy lines show the water moving around them. The body has jagged feather shapes along the wing and a pointed tail. At the lower left, a lotus-style flower sits on a round lily pad with a second pad floating beside it. A small clump of reeds with a cattail rises on the right near a simple horizon line. The big open areas on the body and the water are easy for younger kids to fill in. Try pink and coral shades on the flamingo, then use greens for the pads and reeds, and talk about why flamingos wade in shallow water. This printable page also works well for a quick pond habitat lesson.
