Floating Hot Air Balloon, Adult Coloring Sheet
Coloring guide
A big hot air balloon drifts across the sky here, with a woven basket hanging underneath on four ropes. The balloon is split into vertical panels and decorated in bands: scalloped arches along the top, a row of five circles through the middle, and a zigzag pattern below. Puffy outlined clouds sit on both sides, three small birds fly close by, and rolling hills with a few more clouds make a simple landscape at the bottom. Big shapes and bold lines make it good for kids who like filling in patterns, and it's relaxing for older colorers too. Try a different bright color in each of the five circles, then alternate warm and cool shades in the zigzag so the balloon pops against a pale blue sky. It downloads as a free PDF, handy for a classroom project or weekend craft. This page is part of our Adult Coloring coloring pages collection — check out Love and Color by Number (Adult) too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big balloon envelope: color the upper and lower panels, the zigzag bands and the bottom band in lemon yellow, leaving the round porthole circles white.
- 2Fill the red panels in tomato red and the center band of the balloon in bright blue, staying inside the lines.
- 3Color the orange zigzag points near the bottom of the balloon in orange, and the green lower panels in leaf green and light green as shown.
- 4Add the basket in caramel brown with its weave lines, and color the rim in golden yellow. Keep the ropes and the space between them white.
- 5Color the clouds in sky blue, and fill the hills and bushes in light green and leaf green for the grassy ground.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading at the edges of the balloon and hills with a slightly darker shade of the same color for extra depth.
