Leaf Boat Fairy Sailing Past a Frog
Coloring guide
Sitting in a leaf boat, a little fairy grips the mast of a big leaf sail with one hand and gazes happily off to the side. She has long wavy hair, a flower crown, a petal-style skirt and large wings behind her. A smiling frog rests on a lily pad in the lower left, a water lily floats on another pad at the bottom right, and a big-eyed dragonfly hovers in the upper right. Cattails and a blooming lily pad fill the edges of the pond, with ripples circling the boat. Large shapes and clear lines suit young colorers, and the free printable is a nice thing to have for a quiet afternoon. Soft lavender or pink wings, a sunny yellow crown, and green for the frog and lily pads would look good. This fits right in with our Fairy coloring pages — see also Vampire and Yeti.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big leaf boat, the lily pads and the grass: color them leaf green, leaving the white lily blossom and the small highlights on the grass white.
- 2Fill the water on the left and the water around the frog and lily pads with sky blue, then color the fairy's wings and the dragonfly's wings pale blue.
- 3Color the sail light yellow and the fairy's hair, flower crown and wisp curls golden yellow, leaving the white flowers in her crown bright.
- 4Color the dress with rose pink and the lower petals of the dress soft pink, then fill the face, arms and hands with warm peach.
- 5Use lime green on the frog and its feet, forest green on the tall reed leaves and the leaves on the left, and warm brown for the cattail heads.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the edges of the boat and the dress, and leave the eyes' white parts and small highlights untouched.
