Flower-Top Butterfly Adult Coloring Sheet
Coloring guide
A friendly butterfly with a smiling face, big eyes and curly antennae perches on top of a large flower. Its wings are spread wide, with big rounded sections in the middle and rows of different-sized circles along the outer edges. You can spot the striped body easily between the wings. Underneath, the flower has a scalloped center and big, smooth petals, and a long stem with two simple leaves finishes the picture. Crayons and markers handle the large shapes well, and the small circles are made for fine-tip pens. You might repeat two or three colors around the circles on each wing, then choose a bold shade for the petals so the butterfly stands out. It's a free, calm activity for home or the classroom. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the butterfly's wing edges and outer border sky blue, leaving the small white dots on the wings white.
- 2Fill the big inner wing panels with bubblegum pink and lavender purple, alternating them so each panel has a color.
- 3Color the flower petals bubblegum pink and the two leaves leaf green, keeping the stem uncolored or lightly tinted.
- 4Fill the head and thorax lemon yellow, leave the eye whites white, and color the abdomen in tangerine orange with golden yellow bands.
- 5Add lemon yellow dots on the blue wing edges and antenna tips, and color the flower center golden yellow with a tangerine orange scalloped collar.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the lower edges of the petals and wings for a bit of depth.
