A chubby, fluffy bear cub stands next to a candy-covered gingerbread house and leans in to sniff the roof with its big round nose. Rows of gumdrops line the roof, and the brick chimney on top wears a thick layer of icing. Lower down there's a swirly peppermint above an arched door, round candy buttons, two windows with icing trim, and a stepping-stone path across the grass. Three big spiral lollipops sit up front, and puffy bushes fill in behind. With large shapes and clear outlines, it works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bear's fur, head, ears and legs with caramel brown, then fill the inside of the ears with light pink.
- 2Fill the background bushes and grass with grass green, add lime green on the bottom bush and small patches of grass, and color the patch behind the bear teal.
- 3Color the gingerbread house walls and door with caramel brown and chestnut brown on the chimney, then add amber orange on the door arch and round buttons.
- 4Color the roof candies in a mix of sky blue, lavender, golden yellow, tangerine orange, rose pink, coral, cherry red and light blue, leaving the snow on the roof and window sills white.
- 5Color the windows pale blue, the big lollipops in cherry red, sky blue and golden yellow, and the stepping stones light gray, keeping the lollipop centers and peppermint swirl white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the bear's fur and the chimney shadow with a deeper brown to make the drawing pop.
