Angel Playing a Long Trumpet Mid-Flight

An angel soars sideways across the page with both hands raised to a long, flared trumpet. Her eyes are closed as she plays, and she wears a simple cap or headband with wavy hair falling behind it. One large wing sweeps up and back, with scalloped rows of small feathers on top and long, pointed feathers fanning out below. Her loose robe stretches out behind her in big flowing folds, with a wide sash-like band draped across the middle and ribbons of fabric trailing off at the feet. The open shapes are large and easy to reach, so younger kids can manage them without trouble. Try coloring the wing feathers in graduated shades, from pale at the top row to deeper tones at the long tips, to show how the layers overlap.
