Fairy Flying with a Star Wand by the Crescent Moon

Zooming across the night sky, a smiling little fairy holds a star-tipped magic wand in one hand and stretches her other arm out behind her. Her hair is pinned in a bun with a ring of small flowers, and her petal-style dress has a flower on the belt, with matching flowers on her tiny shoes. Big butterfly-style wings with swirly sections spread out behind her. From the wand, a trail of tiny stars and sparkly dots curls toward the bottom right, while a large crescent moon and several star outlines in different sizes fill the background. Wings, petals and stars are large and easy to color, and the small dots give older kids some detail work. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin: color the face, neck, arms, hands and legs with peach skin, leaving the small highlight in the hair white.
- 2Fill the hair, bun and hair flowers with warm brown, then add the pink flowers in the hair with coral pink.
- 3Color the dress: use coral pink for the bodice and the upper skirt petals, and lavender purple for the lower petals, with the green waist sash in leaf green.
- 4Paint the wings with sky blue for the front wing and pale sky blue for the lower and back wings, plus light aqua for the inner wing sections.
- 5Finish the stars and the wand star in golden yellow, then leave the moon and the small sparkles in the background white. Optional: Add a few light strokes of a darker shade inside the wings for depth.
