Heart Egg Cups Holding Four Easter Eggs

Four decorated eggs stand upright in matching footed egg cups, and each cup has a little heart on it. The first egg is striped across, the second is covered in hearts of different sizes, the third has big and small daisy-style flowers, and the fourth has a diamond lattice. Two tulips with leaves sit along the bottom, among scattered five-petal flowers and loose single leaves. With bold lines and big shapes, it's a good fit for younger kids using chunky crayons, while the smaller flowers and diamonds give older kids something to chew on. Try a different color for each egg, like pink hearts, yellow flowers and purple diamonds, then paint all four egg cups the same color so the row looks like a matched set. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the four egg cups: color the first cup sky blue, the second lemon yellow, the third soft pink and the fourth lime green, leaving the cup hearts for later.
- 2Fill the big eggs next: the first egg gets bands of lemon yellow, sky blue and soft pink, the second egg is lavender purple, the third egg is lime green, and the fourth egg gets sky blue diamonds with lemon yellow between them.
- 3Add the hearts: color the hearts on the second egg and the hearts on the cups soft pink, and the heart on the third cup lemon yellow.
- 4Paint the bottom flowers and leaves: the tulips are soft pink and lavender purple, the leaves are grass green, and the blue and pink flowers get lemon yellow centers. Keep the small white flowers and the flower petals on the third egg white.
- 5Optional: Add a little shading with a slightly darker shade of each color along one side of the eggs and cups to make them look rounder.
