Standing on the sandy seafloor, a cheerful fox in a snorkel mask and diving suit waves one gloved hand while a big-eyed crab grins next to him. The fox has pointed ears, a bushy tail with zigzag tips, an air tank on his back, a snorkel tube by his head, and flippers on his feet. The crab holds one claw up high and keeps the other near the diver's side. Along the bottom there's a scallop shell, a spiral seashell, some small pebbles and dots in the sand, and a tall piece of seaweed on the right. Bold outlines and large shapes make it a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and it prints free. Orange for the fox, red for the crab, and a teal or blue snorkel mask would make them stand out nicely. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the fox's head, ears, and tail in orange, and the crab's body and claws in coral red, leaving the crab's eye whites and the fox's eye shines white.
- 2Fill the diver's wetsuit, arms, legs, and the fox's goggles and snorkel with medium blue, royal blue, and light blue, leaving the goggle lenses lighter with pale blue.
- 3Add the fox's muzzle, chin, and tail tip in cream, and color the crab's legs and the fox's paws in tangerine and orange.
- 4Color the seaweed in leaf green, the scallop shell in lavender purple, and the spiral shell in pink, adding the crab's cheek spots in amber.
- 5Finish the details with pink on the crab's smile and the fox's tongue, and bright yellow on the snorkel clip and tiny accents. Optional: add a little darker shading along one side of each shape for depth.
