Frosted Cookies Cooling on a Wire Rack
Coloring guide
Five iced cookies rest on a square wire cooling rack in this sweet bakery scene. There's a heart with a smaller heart in its middle, a star with a swirl, a five-petal flower, a smiling butterfly, and a round cookie with a spiral and scalloped edge. Dots, wavy icing borders and curly swirls decorate every one, so there's lots to color. A checkered kitchen towel peeks out from under one bottom corner of the rack, and little hearts and short sprinkle dashes dot the edges. The grid of the rack is a fun pattern to fill in as well. You could use pink and red icing on the heart, yellow on the star and a rainbow of dots across the butterfly wings. The page downloads as a free PDF with no sign-up. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big round cookie and the flower cookie: color the round cookie body turquoise and fill the flower petals with lavender.
- 2Color the heart cookie's icing bright pink and fill the star cookie's center with golden yellow, leaving the small highlight spots white.
- 3Fill the butterfly's wings with sky blue and rose pink, and color the butterfly head and body golden yellow.
- 4Add the cookie edges in light tan and caramel brown, and color the flower center and heart center cherry red or golden yellow as shown.
- 5Color the napkin with coral red and cherry red stripes, leaving the pale pink stripes and the rack squares white.
- 6Optional: Add a few small shading strokes in a darker shade of each color to make the cookies look more like frosted treats.
