A fluffy-faced fruit bat hangs upside down from a thick tree branch, its big leathery wings wrapped around its body like a cozy blanket. Big round eyes and a tiny nose peek out of its furry head. Next to it dangles a large bunch of bananas with a blossom underneath, and a flowering stem hangs at the upper right. Three smaller bats fly across the sky near puffy clouds, and in the distance you'll find a mountain, a waterfall, palm trees and a jungle. Big hibiscus flowers and leafy plants fill the bottom corners. Large wing areas suit steady crayons, and the small leaf details are good for fine markers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bananas in the left cluster golden yellow, leaving small white highlights on each one.
- 2Fill the bat's wings and body with charcoal gray, leaving the thin white bone lines between wing sections uncolored.
- 3Color the bat's head and fuzzy fur warm brown, and give the face a caramel orange tint around the top of the head.
- 4Paint the sky and the pond water sky blue, and keep the fluffy clouds white.
- 5Add grass green and leaf green to the jungle leaves and branch, then use bright red for the hibiscus flowers at the bottom.
- 6Optional: Add a little light green to the lower jungle plants and a touch of maroon to the banana flower for extra depth.
