Coloring guide
This page is mostly one big sunflower. Its round center is covered in tiny oval seeds that spiral outward, a ring of large pointed petals surrounds it, and a thick straight stem holds it all up. Near the bottom, two broad leaves branch off, each with a center vein and small side lines. Up in the right corner, a little sun with a happy face floats beside the flower, with short rays all around it. Nothing else is in the background, so there's lots of white space to play with. Yellow petals and a warm brown center look great, with two different greens on the leaves and orange for the sun. Because the seeds are small, crayons or fine-tip markers work best. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big round flower center with warm brown, and leave the small oval seeds white so they stand out.
- 2Fill every petal of the flower with sunny yellow, working around the outlines, and color the smiling sun the same yellow.
- 3Color the stem and both leaves with leaf green, keeping the leaf veins as white lines if you like.
- 4Leave the background and the sun's rays and eyes white so the picture feels bright and clean.
- 5Optional: Add a little extra shading by pressing slightly darker strokes near the base of the petals and along one side of the leaves.
