Candy Cane Fence Gingerbread House with Swirl Lollipops

A peppermint swirl crowns this gingerbread house, and wavy icing drips along roof edges that are dotted with circles. Up in the attic there's a window with a scalloped frame and a cross-shaped pane, and a heart sits on each side of it. The arched front door has a round window and a border of dots, with a square window on either side. A tall chimney with icing on top pokes up behind the roof. Out front, two big swirl lollipops stand beside a candy cane fence with frosting-topped corners, and oval stepping stones lead to the door. Little kids can handle the big shapes, while the dots and swirls keep older kids busy. Red and white stripes look great on the candy canes, and warm brown works well for the walls. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big house walls and the chimney in caramel brown, leaving the snowy roof, window frames and lollipops white.
- 2Fill the grass patches and the hedges on both sides of the path in grass green.
- 3Color the front door, the heart shapes and the window panes in bright red and sky blue, keeping the white door dots and window ledges.
- 4Fill the stepping stones and the path in light tan, then color the fence bars in pale yellow.
- 5Color the roof dots in orange, golden yellow and bright red, and add coral pink and blush pink stripes on the candy canes while keeping the other stripes white.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading along the edges of the brown walls with a slightly darker brown to make the house look more three-dimensional.
