Gingerbread House with Candy Roof and Gingerbread Man

A little gingerbread house fills the page, with a thick wavy icing roof topped by a row of round candies along both sloped edges. A tall chimney rises on the right side. Under the roof peak you will find a big swirl lollipop shape, a round peppermint, and two curly icing flourishes. The arched doorway is framed with candy cane stripes, and a smiling gingerbread man with a bow tie stands inside with his arms out. On the right is a shuttered four-pane window with striped trim, and four striped posts sit below it. Two swirl lollipops stand beside the house, with two smaller lollipops at the outer edges and rounded gumdrops along the bottom. Try coloring the roof candies in a repeating pattern, like red, green, yellow, then talk about how patterns work. It is a good fit for a free printable holiday afternoon at home or in the classroom.
