Ponytail Girl Leaping for a Basketball Shot
Coloring guide
A smiling girl with a long ponytail jumps off the ground to shoot, one arm reaching high with fingers pointing up after the release. The ball floats above her. She has on a sleeveless jersey, loose shorts, tall socks and chunky sneakers. Over on the right are the backboard, the rim and a netted basket. The gym floor behind her has horizontal lines, and a big curved court line sweeps across the foreground. Bold outlines and roomy shapes keep this free printable easy for young kids. A bright team color for the jersey and shorts, orange for the ball and a warm wood shade for the floor would all fit nicely. Good for sports fans, PE classes and rainy afternoons. - charcoal gray
- orange
- lavender purple

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the girl's skin: fill the face, neck, both arms and both legs with peach, leaving the eye whites, teeth and sock areas white.
- 2Color the ponytail, the hair on top and at the front, and the hair near the ear in chestnut brown, adding light strokes so the hair looks smooth.
- 3Fill the tank top and the shorts in coral pink, keeping the thin white stripe down the side of the shorts and the hem trim white.
- 4Color the sneakers in lavender purple and the basketballs in orange, leaving the basketball lines as the white gaps between strokes.
- 5Fill the backboard in sky blue, the hoop rim in bright red, and the backboard pole in charcoal gray; color the wooden floor in honey tan and the court stripe in sky blue, keeping the curved court line white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the shorts, the ponytail and the floor edges to give the drawing more depth.
