Up in the Clouds With a Rusty Rivets Airship Pilot
Coloring guide
A smiling girl in a pilot's cap, goggles and a bouncy ponytail holds the steering wheel of a riveted flying machine covered in gears. Behind her is a patchwork sail stitched with squares, and the airship has a spinning propeller at the front, another at the back and a small flat tail flap on the left. Two cogs and a round porthole sit on the side of the hull. Fluffy clouds drift across the sky, and the bottom of the page is filled with rolling hills, little bushes, grass tufts and a winding path. Gadget and gear fans will like all the detail, and the big shapes on the sails and clouds are good for smaller hands. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the hills and ground at the bottom by filling them with grass green, then add leaf green to the bushes along the hills.
- 2Color the clouds with pale sky blue, then fill the big wing sail and the propeller blades with sky blue, leaving the thin white gaps along the wing struts.
- 3Fill the airship hull, tail fin and gears with golden yellow, and use chocolate brown for the wooden rim, the ponytail and the helmet.
- 4Add tomato red to the round rings on the front engine, the tail propeller blades and the scarf, and use denim blue for the shirt straps.
- 5Color the face, hands and neck with skin peach, and fill the backpack with leaf green.
- 6Optional: add a darker shade of sky blue or chocolate brown along the edges of the sail and hull for a little depth, and keep the goggle lenses and eye highlights white for sparkle.
