Sky Ride on a Winged Horse with a Bear Cub

A girl with her hair pinned up in a bun rides a winged horse across the sky. She sits sideways behind the horse's neck in a high collar, a long skirt and little boots, and a small bear cub sits in front of her. One of her hands rests on the horse's shoulder. The horse has two big feathered wings spread wide, a long flowing tail that curls at the tip, and a mane with a small flower and star decoration on its head. Its front legs are tucked up as if it is mid-flight. Puffy clouds fill the background and the bottom of the page. The feathers give kids plenty of space to try a gradient, such as soft pink at the base fading to purple at the tips. The clouds could be pale blue or left white for contrast. It works well for a quiet afternoon at home or a free choice activity in class.
