Twirling by the Duck Pond, True and the Rainbow Kingdom Coloring Sheet
Coloring guide
At the edge of a pond, a smiling barefoot girl with long wavy hair and a flower clip twirls as if mid-dance, holding out the sides of her flowy knee-length dress. Two little ducks float on the rippling water behind her, and a big rainbow rises over the far shoreline under puffy clouds. Water lilies and lily pads dot the pond, tall cattail reeds frame both bottom corners, and a few pebbles and grass tufts sit along the muddy bank. That wide skirt is the perfect spot for a favorite color, like sunny yellow or soft lavender, with a pink flower in her hair for a finishing touch. Crayons and markers handle the big shapes well, while the ripples and reeds let older kids add detail. It's a free printable for a quiet afternoon. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- golden yellow
- sky blue
- peach skin
- chestnut brown
- leaf green
- lime green
- warm gray
- bright blue
- bright red
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sky-blue lake areas on both sides of the dancer and the water along the bottom left, leaving the cloud and background sky white.
- 2Color the whole dress in golden yellow, including the skirt, bodice, and hem, and the lily flower in the same yellow.
- 3Fill the face, arms, neck, legs, and bare feet with peach skin tones, keeping the eye whites and smile highlights white.
- 4Color the long hair and the cattails in chestnut brown, then add the leaf green bushes, lily pads, and the duck pond reeds in lime green and leaf green.
- 5Use bright blue, bright red, and leaf green for the rainbow bands, leaving the flower petals and both ducks white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker blue or brown along the edges of the dress and hair for depth, and finish with the gray rocks at the bottom.
