Kitten and Puppy Graduation Pals with Books
Coloring guide
Side by side sit a smiling kitten and a happy puppy, both in graduation caps with dangling tassels and each holding a rolled-up diploma tied with a bow. The kitten has whiskers, pointy ears and a curled tail. The puppy has a floppy ear, a big tongue and a round nose. At their feet is a neat stack of three books, and a star-shaped award rosette with ribbon tails leans on the stack. The background stays plain white so little hands can focus on the characters. Bold, smooth lines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or markers. Golden yellow works for the tassels and rosette, and each book cover can get its own bright color. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the cat and the dog with bright orange for the cat and light tan for the dog head, leaving the eye shines, cap edge highlights and page edges white.
- 2Fill both graduation caps and the cat's and dog's cap tassels with royal blue and golden yellow, then add the cat's and dog's tassels in golden yellow.
- 3Color the three stacked books: sky blue on the top book, emerald green on the middle book, and cherry red with caramel brown ends on the bottom book, keeping the cream white pages.
- 4Fill the diplomas and the dog's chest with cream white, then add the cherry red bows and the coral pink tongues and inner ears.
- 5Color the award star golden yellow with a pale yellow center, and the ribbon tails in royal blue.
- 6Optional: Add a little caramel brown shading on the cat's legs and paws and on the dog's back leg for depth.
