Mortarboard Graduation Cap and Four Little Stars
Coloring guide
Right in the middle of this page sits a big mortarboard cap. The top is flat and diamond-shaped with a round button in the center, and a long tassel hangs down the right side, ending in a small ball and a fringe of thin lines. Below the flat top you'll see the rounded cap with a wide band around the bottom. Four five-pointed stars with soft, rounded corners float nearby, two up top and two underneath. Bold outlines and big, simple shapes keep it easy for young children, and older kids can take their time on the tassel strands. It works well as an end-of-year activity or a keepsake for a graduate. Deep blue or black looks nice on the cap, with gold for the tassel and button and any mix you like for the stars. Save it as a free PDF for a classroom project or weekend craft. Fans of Graduation coloring pages often like Farmer and Balloon as well.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big square top of the cap and the rounded base underneath, filling both with royal blue.
- 2Color the wide band around the bottom of the cap base in golden yellow, keeping the thin line where it meets the blue.
- 3Fill the small button on top of the cap and the cord running to the tassel in golden yellow.
- 4Color the tassel knob and the full tassel fringe, including the left and right strands, in golden yellow.
- 5Fill all four stars with golden yellow, leaving their outlines clean.
- 6Leave the thin sliver of light on the right side of the cap white to show a little shine. Optional: add a few light strokes of royal blue on the cap for a sketchy, textured look.
