Grandma's Porch Treats for Three Trick-or-Treaters

Coloring guide
Round glasses and a hair bun mark this smiling grandmother, who bends forward at her front door and holds out a big bowl of wrapped candies. Three trick-or-treaters stand on the porch steps with their backs to us. One wears a pointed witch hat and cape with striped tights, one has a pirate hat with a skull and crossbones and a ragged-edged vest, and one is an astronaut in a helmet and backpack. Each child holds a jack-o'-lantern candy pail. A carved pumpkin with a grinning face sits beside the door, with a hanging porch lantern, a wooden railing and a leafy bush behind. Warm orange is a good match for the pumpkins and pails, deep purple for the witch's hat, and soft pastels for grandma's cardigan. Grab this free printable for a relaxed afternoon. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big blue house siding and the lantern glass: fill the siding panels with soft blue, and color the lantern glass golden yellow, leaving the lantern frame and background white.
- 2Color the bushes and the grass with leaf green, grass green and light green so the left side of the scene comes alive.
- 3Fill the grandma's dress with pink, her cardigan and sleeves with lavender purple, and her hair with light gray, leaving the eyes and glasses shine white.
- 4Color the three trick-or-treaters: the witch's hat and the pirate's vest and hat in charcoal black, the witch's cape in deep purple, the pirate's pants in navy blue, and the astronaut suit left white with a medium gray backpack.
- 5Use pumpkin orange for the candy bowl, the trick-or-treat buckets and the big jack-o-lantern, and burnt orange for the door. Add the bright red bandana last. Optional: Add a little darker shade under the porch steps and the hats to give everything more depth.
