Rusty Rivets takes up the right side of the page with a big grin, a few freckles across his cheeks and round goggles pushed up over his spiky hair. His short-sleeved shirt has a lightning bolt badge on the chest. The workshop behind him has a large round vault-style door with bolts around the edge, a wall screen with buttons and a dial, and a workbench stacked with small gadgets and a little monitor. On the left sits a stack of tires or gears, and the Rusty Rivets logo is up in the top corner. Shapes are big and clean, so it's a nice free printable for young colorists. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big round door on the left and the lower side panel: fill them with medium blue, leaving the thin silver rim around the door uncolored.
- 2Color the wall panels behind the monitor and beside the boy with powder blue, and fill the grass patch in the top left corner with grass green.
- 3Fill the floor and bottom panels with light gray, then add the boy's peach skin, leaving the eye whites, the shine on the goggles and the ring around the cheeks white.
- 4Paint the boy's shirt orange with a golden yellow bolt emblem, and color the hair charcoal gray and the goggle lenses aqua blue with silver gray frames.
- 5Add red to the counter top and the box on the right, and golden yellow to the right cabinet and the box beside it; fill the monitor screen with aqua blue.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of charcoal gray along the edges of the door and the hair to add depth, and finish the outlines with black.
