Reaching up to hang a Christmas stocking on the mantel, a little girl with a tiara and a tall hair bun stands in a long ruffled nightgown. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big red areas: color the girl's long dress and both stockings in cherry red, leaving the fur cuffs and the ruffled hem white.
- 2Fill the mantel and wall behind the fireplace with wood brown, and color the brick arch of the fireplace in sand beige.
- 3Color the Christmas tree and its leaves in forest green, then add cherry red to the tree pot and its bow, and golden yellow to the star.
- 4Use skin peach for the girl's face, neck and hands, and dark brown for her hair, leaving a few white strands for shine.
- 5Finish the fire with golden yellow flames, charcoal gray inside the opening, and dark brown logs. Color the holly in forest green and honey orange berries.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the dress folds and along the bottom of the stockings to give them depth.
