Happy Apple Pal Next to a Sliced Apple

Coloring guide
This friendly fruit scene pairs a cheerful whole apple with a cut-open apple half. The smiling one has big shiny eyes, rosy cheek lines and a small curved smile, plus a short stem and a pointed leaf on top. A second leaf lies loose near the bottom right corner. The sliced apple in front shows a star-shaped core with five small seeds, which is a neat spot for kids to look closely. Thick, bold outlines and open shapes keep it easy for little hands, so it works for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Bright red looks good on the smiling apple, pale yellow on the flesh of the cut half, and fresh green on both leaves. Save it as a free PDF for classroom time or a rainy day. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- apple red
- pale cream
- leaf green
- soft yellow
- chocolate brown
- caramel brown
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big apple on the right and the red skin peeking out behind the sliced apple with apple red, leaving the two eye whites white.
- 2Fill the inside of the sliced apple with pale cream, keeping the rim of the skin in apple red.
- 3Color the star in the middle of the sliced apple with soft yellow, leaving the seeds uncolored.
- 4Color both leaves with leaf green, then add chocolate brown to the top stem and caramel brown to the stem of the sliced apple.
- 5Optional: add a few darker strokes of apple red on the right side of the big apple and deeper green on the leaves for a bit of depth.
