Baby Chick Popping Out of an Easter Egg

Coloring guide
Out of a cracked eggshell pops a fluffy baby chick, both wings stretched wide and its beak open in a big smile. It has large shiny eyes, a tuft of feathers on its head and a soft, fuzzy chest showing over the zigzag edge of the shell. One broken piece of shell rests next to the egg, and little tufts of grass surround the bottom. Shapes are big and clean, so younger children can stay inside the lines, and the feathery bits give older kids more to focus on. Sunny yellow for the chick and orange for the beak look right, and pastel stripes or dots on the shell add an Easter feel. Print the free PDF for classroom time or a rainy day. This fits right in with our Easter Eggs coloring pages — see also Easter for Kids and Baby Chicks.

- 2Fill the big bottom egg shell and the broken piece on the right with warm cream so the shells look soft and light.
- 3Color the grass tufts at the bottom with leaf green.
- 4Color the triangle beak with tangerine orange.
- 5Color the open mouth inside the beak with coral pink.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of bright yellow along the edges of the body and wings to give a fluffy look.
