Baby Monkey Eating a Banana on a Tree Branch
Coloring guide
A happy little monkey perches on a thick tree branch and lifts a peeled banana to its open, smiling mouth. Big round eyes, small ears and a tuft of hair on top make it look sweet and playful, and its long curly tail loops up behind. Large leaves surround the scene: two hang from the top right corner, more fill the left side and the lower right, and one peeks in at the bottom left. The peel dangles open in strips, which makes fun shapes to color. Preschoolers and early elementary kids will do well with the big, simple outlines, and the page prints cleanly as a free PDF. Warm golden brown works for the fur, with soft tan on the face, ears and belly. A bright yellow banana will stand out nicely against the green leaves. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- warm brown
- peach skin
- leaf green
- golden yellow
- pale cream
- soft pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the monkey's face, ears, belly, hands and feet in peach skin, leaving the eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the head fur, body, arms, legs, curly tail and tree branch with warm brown, keeping the white background clean.
- 3Color all the leaves in leaf green, including the big leaves on the left and the hanging leaves at the top right.
- 4Use golden yellow for the banana peel and pale cream for the banana flesh, leaving the bright tip lighter.
- 5Add soft pink to the tongue and inside of the open mouth, and keep the eye whites and teeth white.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes in warm brown on the fur and leaf green on the leaf veins for a bit of depth.
