Penguin Belly Slide Coloring Page For Kids
Coloring guide
Flat on its belly, a smiling baby penguin zooms across the ice with its flippers stretched out to the sides and its little feet kicked up behind. Curved swoosh lines beneath it show just how fast it's going. Two snowy hills rise in the background, and three snowflakes of different sizes float above. Big round eyes, an open beak and a tiny tuft of feathers on its head make a cheerful face that's easy to color. Large shapes and bold outlines make this free printable a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Light blue works for the snowflakes, black and gray for the back and flippers, white for the tummy and face, and bright orange for the beak and feet. This fits right in with our For Kids coloring pages — see also For Girls and Thank You Cards.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- pale blue
- charcoal gray
- warm orange
- soft pink
- sky blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill both snow hills in the background with pale blue, and leave the white snow caps along their tops untouched.
- 2Color the penguin's head, back and right flipper charcoal gray, keeping the white face and belly clear.
- 3Color the two back flippers at the top left and right with warm orange, and fill the beak with the same warm orange.
- 4Color the open mouth with soft pink so it pops against the face.
- 5Add a small sky blue center to the snowflake at the top left, and keep the eye whites white.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading to the gray head and the blue hills with light strokes to give them more depth.
