Kite Flying on a Grassy Hill, a For Kids Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Running across a grassy hill, this smiling boy with short tousled hair holds the kite string high in one raised hand. He's wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt, shorts and chunky sneakers, with his other arm bent at his side as he races along. Near the top of the page the diamond-shaped kite floats, trailing a long tail of bows that curls and flutters in the wind. Puffy clouds fill the sky and rolling hills sit behind him, while small grass tufts and a few simple flowers with round centers dot the foreground. Outlines are bold and shapes fairly large, so this free printable suits preschoolers and early elementary kids still building pencil control. Try a red and yellow kite and give every bow on the tail its own color. Soft blue for the shirt and green for the hills finish it off. - 2Fill the boy's shirt and kite's top panels with bright red, and color his face, arms and legs peach.
- 3Color the boy's hair chestnut brown and his shorts and shoes royal blue, keeping the shoe laces and socks white.
- 4Color the hills and bushes with leaf green and lime green, and fill the kite's lower panels with orange and royal blue.
- 5Color the kite bows bright red, the tail tomato red, and the flowers golden yellow, leaving the flower centers and the mouth coral pink.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color on one side of the shirt, hair and hills for more depth.
