Crab and Starfish Pals on a Big Rock

A smiling crab with big round eyes on stalks sits on top of a large rock, one claw lifted high and the other resting near his body. A cheerful starfish with a dotted pattern on each arm leans against the rock next to him, grinning away. Bubbles of different sizes float in the space above. Along the bottom, tall wavy seaweed grows on both sides of the rock, and a small sea anemone, a few pebbles and a cluster of little round corals are tucked around its base. With large shapes and clean lines, this free printable suits preschoolers and early elementary kids. Bright orange-red for the crab and sunny yellow for the starfish will stand out against a gray rock and green seaweed. The bubbles can stay white or get a pale blue tint. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big rock, the small pebbles and the rock edges with stone gray, leaving the background white.
- 2Color the crab's body and face in soft peach, then fill its raised claw, legs and pincers with tomato red.
- 3Color the starfish in golden yellow, keeping the small round dots white, and give its smiling mouth a rose pink touch.
- 4Color the seaweed in grass green and the bubbles in sky blue, keeping the crab's eye whites and any little shine spots white.
- 5Add the purple anemone and the golden shells at the bottom, then dab butter yellow onto a few starfish dots for sparkle.
- 6Optional: Add a second shade of each color in a few spots, like a darker red on the crab's legs or a deeper green at the seaweed bases, for extra depth.
