This dolphin is caught mid-leap, arcing out of the water with a big open grin and its tail flukes still close to the waves. Round eyes with little highlights make it look friendly and playful. Droplets splash up on both sides of its body, and three wavy lines across the bottom stand in for the sea. Three puffy outlined clouds float in the sky, one in each upper corner and one on the right side. The shapes are large and the lines bold and clean, so younger kids can tackle the flippers, tail and splashes without much fuss. A soft sky blue or gray looks nice on the dolphin, with pale pink inside the mouth and a deeper teal for the waves so the splashes pop. Print it free for a screen-free activity at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the dolphin's body, dorsal fin, and right flipper with ocean blue, keeping the big eyes white.
- 2Fill the wavy water lines at the bottom of the page with ocean blue to match the dolphin.
- 3Color the water splashes around the dolphin with bright aqua, including the drops near the tail and by the flipper.
- 4Color the two clouds with pale sky blue, and fill the open mouth and tongue with soft pink.
- 5Leave the eye whites, the teeth area, and the background white so the drawing stays bright and clean.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker ocean blue along the lower edge of the dolphin's body for a simple shadow.
