Fluffy Dog Racing to a Volleyball on the Sand
Coloring guide
A big, fluffy dog dashes over the sand with its tongue out and ears flying, aiming right for a striped volleyball in the bottom corner. A volleyball net stands between two posts behind the dog, and a smiling barefoot boy in a T-shirt and shorts waves from the right side. A few small clouds drift in the sky and some tufts of grass poke up from the ground. All that long, feathery fur gives kids plenty of texture to color, and the large ball and open sand are simple for little hands. Golden yellow and warm orange would suit the dog's coat, and red and blue panels will make the ball stand out. It's a free printable PDF that comes in handy for classroom time or a rainy day. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky behind the net and around the boy using sky blue, leaving the fluffy clouds white.
- 2Color the grass patches and bushes at the edges with grass green and dark green, then fill the net squares with sky blue and pale blue.
- 3Fill the dog's whole body, head, and tail with golden tan, keeping the fur light and fluffy.
- 4Color the ball with bright yellow and royal blue panels, leaving the few white panels on top empty and using pale yellow for a soft highlight.
- 5Add coral pink to the dog's tongue, charcoal gray to the nose, and light peach to the boy's skin, with chestnut brown for his hair and royal blue for his shorts.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker golden tan along the dog's belly and legs for a bit of shading, and leave the boy's shirt white.
