Rain is falling all over the page, but this smiling frog stays dry sitting upright under a big spotted mushroom cap. It has large round eyes with shiny highlights, an open happy mouth and a round belly, and its front and back feet with little toes rest on the ground. Oval spots cover the cap and curved gills show underneath. You'll find grass tufts on both sides and a few puddles along the bottom. The raindrops are simple teardrops with lots of white space around them, so small hands can color them easily. A bright green frog with a pale yellow belly goes well with a classic red cap and white spots. Free to print as a PDF for a rainy day at home or school. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the mushroom cap: color the big dome bright red, leaving the round spots white.
- 2Fill the gills under the cap with pale cream, and add a little amber gold where the cap meets the stem.
- 3Color the frog with leaf green, including the head, legs, and toes, leaving the eye whites white.
- 4Paint the frog's belly butter yellow and fill the open smile with light pink, adding brick red at the mouth corners.
- 5Color the raindrops and both puddles sky blue, then add a few small strokes of color to the grass if you like.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade along the edges of the mushroom and frog to make them pop.
