Happy Lungs Breathing Outdoors, Respiratory Anatomy Page

Coloring guide
Two cheerful lungs with big sparkly eyes and open happy smiles stand side by side, joined to a ribbed windpipe at the top. Inside each lung, branching airways spread out like little trees, which makes it simple to show how air travels through the body. Curly swirls of wind drift in from both sides at the top to show breathing in fresh air. Along the bottom is a grassy hill dotted with small bushes and tufts of grass, with a leafy tree on the right. Soft pink or coral suits the lungs, light brown or gray the windpipe, and bright greens the tree and grass. Pick up the free printable PDF for a classroom project or weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color both lungs with coral pink, leaving the bright highlights along their edges white.
- 2Fill the windpipe rings and the branching airways with golden yellow, and paint the small opening at the top of the windpipe dark brown.
- 3Color the tree trunk light brown and its leafy crown and both bushes grass green, leaving the grass blades in the ground area as they are.
- 4Use deep red for the smiles and mouths on both faces, keeping the little teeth white if you like.
- 5Keep the eye whites and the open space between the lungs white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker pink along the lower edges of the lungs for a bit of depth.
