Baby Monkey Taking a Bite of a Banana
Coloring guide
A smiling baby monkey sits on the ground with its legs stretched out, holding a half-peeled banana up to its mouth for a big bite. There are little bite marks on the banana tip, and the peel hangs in two flaps on either side of its hands. The monkey has big round ears, wide shiny eyes, a tuft of hair on top and a long curly tail looping up behind it. A small bunch of whole bananas rests at the bottom right. With no background, the monkey and its snack stand out, and the thick outlines are easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids to follow. Soft brown fur with a lighter tan face, hands and belly works well, and yellow bananas make a nice contrast. Print it at home whenever you need a quick coloring break. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- warm brown
- light peach
- golden yellow
- soft pink
- cream
- leaf green
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big brown areas: fill the monkey's head top, both arms, both legs, and the curly tail with warm brown.
- 2Color the monkey's face, both feet, and the round belly with light peach, leaving the background white.
- 3Fill the inside of the ear and the open mouth with soft pink, and color the bitten banana flesh with cream.
- 4Color all the bananas, including the bunch on the right and the one being held, with golden yellow, then add the green stem on top of the bunch with leaf green.
- 5Leave the eye whites and front teeth white, then add small details like the eye pupils and darker lines. Optional: Add a few light strokes of darker brown on the arms and legs for depth.
