Here is a happy little monkey hanging upside down, its tail knotted around a thick, curving branch. It grins wide with its mouth open and big round eyes, arms reaching toward the ground and feet kicking up near the branch. Leafy sprigs hang on both sides of the vine. A single peeled-looking banana is on the left and a pair of round fruits is on the right, and two small tufts of grass sit in the bottom corners. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big fur areas: color the monkey's body, arms, head fur and curled tail with warm brown, leaving the eyes and cherry shines white.
- 2Fill the branch and its top edge with dark brown, then add the wrapped knot of the tail in warm brown.
- 3Color the face and chin with light tan, and the ears inside and out with peach.
- 4Paint the leaves leaf green, the banana golden yellow, and the two cherries bright red, keeping the small shine spots white.
- 5Color the tongue in coral pink and keep the eye whites and teeth white for a bright, happy look.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of dark brown along the monkey's arms and body for a little depth.
